Hello friends! I’m happy to announce that RUBICS version ONE is finished!
For those of you who have been following my personal journey, this does in-fact mean that my Masters Dissertation is complete, where I used RUBICS to undertake a CBA of the proposal to raise Warragamba Dam to mitigate against flooding in Western Sydney. What a relief.
But now, I get to release the ‘feature complete’ version that I used in that endeavour, here’s what’s new:
- User defined functions that enable the user to impute non-linear functions from a series of x and y points, using a number of imputation functions from sci-py including nearest, previous, next, linear, cubic spline, akima, and smoothed cubic spline.
- Ability to download new CPI and exchange rate data from the WorldBank API.
- Bug catching so that RUBICS doesn’t crash if you make a mistake or typo entering information into the UI.
While RUBICS: Star is just about done, I can’t guarantee that it is 100% stable – but I hope everybody who is interested nonetheless finds it useful. And I’m not done with it yet – I still have ideas for future features that can take it to the next level!
